Boledi is Glorinah’s praise singing name usually used to show the highest form of respect and acknowledgement.

Born in Limpopo and grew up in the city of Pretoria, she has embedded her nostalgic early childhood life in her heart and continues to reflect it in her wallpapers and fabrics, whilst her modern side is strongly evident in her furniture range.

Extreme neutrals, bold geometric patterns, careful use of colour and simple lines represent her signature style. Being a true city girl with a rural heart, her core mission is to re-define the African design style and introduce her version ofhigh-end modern Africa to the modern world.

Blandat was founded in 2013 by the Dutch designer Debby van der Veer, a graduate of the KABK Art Academy in The Netherlands.

BLANDAT is the swedish word that is used to describe a mix of material, colour and technique. It represents the essence that typifies the brand, particularly being hand drawn illustrations with an always visible pencil, combined with many textures brought together which result in prints inpired by Africa.

Blandat currently produces a range of illustrated scarfs and a small range of fabrics. “Le chique d’ afrique” collection has the nice and nasty brought together, in structures and visuals. The collection makes combinations of organic stuctures with man made items that display luxury and wealth. Prints can be big and overwhelming, creating a world wherein one is inspired, confronted and encouraged to be creative. Colours are sometimes found to be wild and clashing. Blandat’s geometric prints are combinations of triangles & blocks with multiple different structures that play with one’s eye in the most strange, yet familiar ways.

Tharien is fascinated with perspective, chiaroscuro, Fibonacci sequence, and an avid admirer of nature. She graduated with a National Textile Diploma from TUT in 1995 She has spent most of her career working in various creative corporate environments, designing everything from furnishing fabrics to fashion, graphics and ceramic tiles.

The artist resides in Cape Town combining skills to create beautiful artworks and textile products spanning across multiple mediums.
Tharien is busy building her own range of products, which includes, jewellery, cushions and hand painted fabrics, to be launched soon at her shop, ‘ThariensTrimorphicArt’ which is in collaboration with Biblliophilia Bookshop in Woodstock.
